Special sessions focus on emerging topics that are not reflected in the regular conference tracks, where authors of accepted paper(s) would like to gather to discuss the topic and their papers.
Proposal Content
Special session organizers submit proposals as a PDF by email to iros2023specialsessions@ieee.org with the following information:
Deadlines
Proposals: January 15, 2023
Papers: March 1, 2023
List of Special Session Paper IDs: March 8, 2023
Paper Submissions
For accepted special sessions, papers organized under that session must be submitted via PaperPlaza by the regular paper deadline of March 1, 2023. After submission, authors send the submission ID to the special session organizers so that special session organizers can send the full list of their session’s submission IDs to the Program Chair (iros2023specialsessions@ieee.org) by March 8, 2023. Papers will undergo the same peer review and decision process as all other regular papers and, if accepted, be published in the proceedings.
If an insufficient number of papers are accepted, the special session may be canceled, and the accepted papers redistributed to other regular or special sessions. Best practice is for proposals to have more than six papers in case some are not accepted. If an excess of papers are accepted, IROS2023 will ask organizers to select a subset of accepted papers for the special session, and other accepted papers will go into other sessions.
