Student and Developing Countries Travel Grants

Thanks to the generous support of the IEEE Robotics and Automation Society (RAS), the IEEE Industrial Electronics Society (IES), the Robotics Society of Japan (RSJ), and the Society of Instrument and Control Engineers (SICE), we are delighted to announce the continuation of the travel grants program for a sixth year at IROS 2023 in Detroit. These grants assist student authors and authors from developing countries in defraying some of their travel costs to attend and present their papers at the IROS conference and to interact with conference attendees. The grants particularly aim to promote the growth of IROS conferences by reaching out to graduate students and members from developing countries.

Eligibility

Applicants must satisfy the following two eligibility requirements:

  1. Student authors (of accepted papers) or authors from developing countries (as defined here by IEEE).
  2. Student members or members of IEEE RAS/IES, RSJ, or SICE. (Note: Members of other IEEE Societies are not eligible.)

In order to claim the travel grant – US$600 or 80% of the applicant’s air travel, whichever is smaller – the recipient must provide proof of attendance (registration) and travel (boarding passes and ticket receipt). Instructions regarding the reimbursement process will be provided at a later date.
